I have seen a lot of cinema over the years, from a variety of countries. I
have even seen some anime.

Like the French film industry, the Japanese film industry has been having a
hard time competing with Hollywood. One big problem for both French and
Japanese film makers is that their market is more limited than that for
English-language films.

Despite that, they have been producing the epic that gets international
distribution, and more often they get recognition for their smaller films.
