Japan and the US have a reciprocal visa waver program in place that 
allows J citizens to visit the US for up to 90 days without having to 
obtain a visa. The same applies for US citizens visiting Japan, of course.

That might be the case, but maybe not. Debito Arudo up in Hokkaido 
reported (if I remember correctly) that the difficulties he anticipated 
did not materialize. I would imagine you would not have a problem as 
long as you don't look like a naturalized Japanese Muslim. <g>

In any case, the US has no problems with people having two passports, 
which is what I was asking about, whereas Japan ostensibly has a no dual 
citizenship policy.
