I had confirmation of something like that a while ago when, hanging
around with a friend, she went into one of those grommet food stores and
began sampling balsamic vinegar (at $30+ for teeny-tiny bottles) with
the store owner. They were sounding like yer basic wine snobs: "early
spring, south side of the mountain, well-shaded plants." I, of course,
wanted to go into my best Eric Idle ("no, actually that's wee-wee), but
managed to restrain myself.
