Ah, in that case I would say that I am a non-foreigner of non-racial
distinction, although in Japan I am a foreigner of racial distinction. Or
something.

You know what's funny, though -- I think I mentioned this a couple years
ago, but people still ask me if I'm half Japanese. What's so strange is
that, as those who have met me can confirm, aside from my dark hair it's
hard to imagine how I could look any *less* Japanese. My favorite was when I
went to one of these minyo places, and the master -- in his 60s or so -- 
asked me if I was an "ai no ko."
