RAID setups can cause problems as they need a driver at install time,
but Vista makes the MBR area unwriteable for XP. The XP formatting tools
won't touch it until the Vista bootloader has been cleared. It may also
be that as the machine is shipped with Vista, there are no XP drivers
for the chipset used, although a standard SATA or IDE HD should be
recognised anyway.
