Which Satellite?

Try booting from the Ultimate Boot CD (Google for it, it's a free
download that you burn to a CD), then use parted or one of the other
programs on it to completely wipe the HD partition information, then
repartition it as you wish.

I take no responsibility for whatever happens..... ;-)

It worked for me on a Satellite U200 after I misguidedly downgraded it
to Vista and I couldn't re-install XP from the restore CD. I did have a
spare HD handy, though, so I wasn't too worried if it went wrong.
