Yes, it is. My home is in an area which has a very high rate of theft,
 but it also has one of the lowest numbers of ethnic minorities.

First it was the Jews and Gypsies, then the Irish, then the Jamaicans
and Pakistanis, and now asylum seekers. Parties like the BNP prey on
people's fears to increase their profile by using the weakest elements
of society; the tabloids fan the flames.

Perhaps the UK does need a review of its immigration policies, but
blaming high crime rates on a small, weak section of society ignores
the wider social problems that create them. It is easy to blame
someone else for your own faults.
