I applied for my New Jersey absentee ballot back in May. I got one for
the Primary as well. I would say that at this point no matter what
state you're planning to mail it in too you might be in trouble. The
deadline for absentee ballots for New Jersey was October 3rd.
Depending on the state you may be able to fax in a ballot so long as
you mail in the hardcopy once you receive it and still make the
election.
