CL totally sneezed all over fj.life.in-japan with a withering cloud of snot:

>Yeah, I do check the name tag before I open my mouth. I usually fly Air
>France or BA to Yurrup, but both of them are recent clients. I normally
>am treated politely if not respectfully and the Japanese staff are
>seconded from JAL or ANA.

Most of the time you know about the flight attendant from how she speaks to the
other passengers. I usually just speak to them in Japanese no matter what they
say to me, just to be a stubborn bastard. The ANA flight attendants have always
been polite and never break their smile.

But of course I'm the one who finds it irritating to be on a bilingual flight in
the first place, because everything the captain and purses says over the
intercom is hastily translated into Japanese ten seconds later by a flustered
flight attendant who sounds like he/she is eating the microphone. When you can
understand both, it's a pain to hear the same thing twice. STOP PUTTING MY MOVIE
ON DEMAND ON PAUSE, DAMMIT.
