Get the spouse visa; barring divorce, it can't get revoked :-)
Seriously, there's a lot of paperwork involved in a work visa, and the
contracting agency will have to guarantee employment for some amount of
time (usually a year.) Lottsa references to file, getting the FBI report,
etc.
