But how many of the people even TRIED to break out of the McEnglish
mold and exercise their profession in Japan? It's easy to just
complain that there are too many barriers and not even try. I've
personally been rejected by many trucking companies in Japan, and have
been clearly and explicitly told that my foreignness was the reason
for the rejection.
I sometimes think about the gaigins who bitch and whine about not
receiving fair and equal treatment with Japanese when it comes to
hiring. My opinion is that while they may want *fair* treatment, they
wouldn't tolerate *equal* treatment.
