Hey, no fair trying to bat the easy pitches out of the ballpark.  Try a 
hard one next time.  Every time he shows up on the Japan Research NG it 
seems as though everybody lines up to kick him in the head.  The mere 
mention of his name or the names of any of his books is enough to set of 
peals of laughter.

The man is allergic to leaned discourse.  Take a look at him vs. Richard 
Katz (of Toyo Keizai), Bob Neff (ex-Newsweek), or even Gregory Clark 
(and who else has ever lost an intellectual debate to Gregory Clark?). 
Tragic stuff.  "Blindside" was the biggest joke of the second half of 
the Nineties.

But, it IS interesting to know what he doesn't know.
