Chinese is a nationality not an ethnicity.
Giving the nationality is often relevant because consequences can be
different if it's a foreigner (that may involve the foreign embassy, there
may be deportation, transfer to another country's jail....).

What is weird is that they give the name of only 2 of these persons. Maybe
it's like in my hometown, if you pay for it, the local paper doesn't give
your name or is very vague about circumstances.
