In one of my books, they say Nobita is 8. I find that normal to see kids
playing like kids. More normal than a 8 yr old Michael Jackson or a 8 yr old
Morning Musume working like adults, doing shows with adults that actually
consider them as sex meat.

Also, I think kids need to be talked about stuff that are not so "normal",
but actually exist.
When I was a child, I remember parents and teachers hesitated to let us read
the books of Colette that was telling how she had tried everything, or the
books of that German teenager that was a drug addict prostitute or to see
documentaries about the holocaust. They'd more easily let us see acrobatic
ukyo-e, Emmanuelle and her erotic games, Sade, etc, because they could say
: "Well, it's fiction you now...", and anyway, after a few glimpse, we were
no longer interested.

Now your son has a Dad that considers hiding him Doraemon and Sailor Moon ?
Well there is a huge cultural gap between us.
