There is a possibility that with the revamped Celtic League teams the Welsh
could once again produce enough quality plyers to compete on the
international stage. Having one wizard at fly-half and another out on the
wing just isn't enough these days. Sacking anyone from the 1970's remotely
connected to the Welsh Rugby Union would also help. Frightening statistic
that I remember being bored to death with by some old guy at Pontypridd
Rugby Club on a very wet Saturday afternoon back in 1991 was that there are
(or at least were then) more rugby clubs in England than there were club
rugby players in Wales.

I wonder if they still talk about the 3 lads from London who travelled down
to watch the Llanelli vs. Pontypridd Heineken Cup game only to find out it'd
been canceled the night before due to a waterlogged pitch. We had sooooo
much beer bought for use by sympathetic club members that we had to spend
the night in Cardiff to sleep it off.
