My ibook is a G3 and it runs 10.3 no problem. Have you considered upgrading?
RAM might be an issue (I have 512 and it is ok though clunky once in a

My colleague loaded Tiger on a G3 500 and it worked. He had a 110GB firewire

laptop as empty as possible. He says things have gone well.

This is the case at the Mac stores but the licensed Mac dealer I use has
plenty of older parts and software for this who do not want to use OSX.
