I have just done something very stupid since I was still half asleep.
I erased the contents of partition E, however, it was partition E on
another machine which is connected to the same monitor!!!

I realized it before emptying the recycle bin and restored the data.
However, only a fraction of 40 GB was restored.
The recycle bin is now empty, and drive E shows 38 GB of free space.

Is there any way to get the data back? I haven't touched this partition
since the mishap occurred.
I have a couple of data recovery softwares, but I'd rather ask an expert
before destroying something that can still be salvaged.

Is there any hope, or do I need to jump from the basement window?:-)
