I've never had the umm, privilege of flying Northwest. In last 10
years or so, for intl flights into/out of Japan I've only used Cathay,
ANA, JAL, Lufthansa and JetStar - the totally useless offshoot of
QANTAS. The code sharing tends to blur the lines a bit sometimes
though.
