"JAL sends 100 execs to American Airlines to learn management skills
as part of reform bid"
http://mdn.mainichi.jp/mdnnews/business/news/20100806p2a00m0na018000c.html

I flew American recently when I went to Japan, with a JAL flight from
NRT to Itami. This signals the end of JAL, IMHO, because while
American Airlines might be run well from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
perspective, the service sucked and the economy section was more
uncomfortable than any economy section I've ever ridden in. I'm not a
tall guy and my knees hit the seat in front of me. People choose to
fly JAL because of their good service, etc., so maybe AA's execs
should try to learn something about that from them while they're
teaching JAL how to be more efficient.
