Bear in mind that the "meanings" assigned to kanji/hanzi/hanja in
dictionaries are not really "translations". Often it is not
relevant to "translate" a single kanji, especially one such as
麗 which does not appear as a solo kanji in Japanese. It is used
in compound such as 麗筆 or as the root of adjectives like
麗しい.
BTW, 麗 *is* used solo as a female given name. In that context it
has at least 15 pronunciations. See http://tinyurl.com/pvpcp
You quote some meanings from Unihan, which is not always reliable
on meanings. In KANJIDIC I have: "lovely; companion", Nelson has
"beautiful, bright and clear, fine, serene, lovely, graceful",
S&H has "beautiful, pretty, lovely, bright, serene. Halpern has
"graceful beauty, lovely, beautiful and neat".

Glad I'm not too old to learn something new :-\}
