JAL is the last airline from a developed country to join a half-decent 
alliance. Typical. According to JAL's website, they are still flying old 
100-series 747's (http://www.jal.co.jp/en/aircraft/aircraft/jal_01.html). I 
thought these were only flown by third-world airlines and possibly in 
America.
