The problem in this case is not so much meeting languages not based on
German (the origins of Japanese are still debated, but the general
consensus is that whatever it is it isn't Germanic), but that the thread
has been crossposted to a lovely little group in the FJ hierarchy. In
this particular parallel universe, scrambled stuff is simply assumed to
be a failed attempt to post in the local lingo. 当たり前だ。

FWIW I can't write in Gaelic and Japanese in the same post - so i acute
gets left out and I end up writing "Ni feidir e" etc instead.
