If you'll recall, we are in a "war on terror". I am quite sure that the enemy
considers such as Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, or any other
major target as fair game, even if there were not large defenseless civilian
populations, for the same reason the US bombed Japanese cities or  Baghdad.

Is that also fair? Will Americans understand or accept this as readily as
Japanese or Iraqis being killed?
