Well firstly I hope your father made a complete recovery and is better now
most importantly.
As for my gf's parents. I have met her whole family twice already and from
what I gather from Gf is that they are fond of me which I consider very
fortunate given the cultural differences and the opinions that you have
stated about "Living in sin". So much so that she is looking forward to
seeing me in January when I next go out there. Her parent are separated and
although the language barrier is very difficult my gf does a good job of
translating and relaying all the plaisantaries that I cant get across too
easily. Hopefully very shortly I will be able to convey my thoughts and
feelings better when i next see her family.
I think at the end of the day we are on the planet to experience these
things and must go with them if the urge is there. Im going to give it my
best shot anyway and from what I have seen and learnt about Japan I think it
would suit me much more than living here in Farnborough. I love the food,
the people and as I have mentioned I have been welcomed by her family who
trust me with their daughter. A really good friend of mine moved to Tokyo 5
years ago with his English partner and havent looked back, even marrying
there last year!!
I have often thought about the teaching route too. A previous job of mine
was IT training and was wondering if that sort of experience would assist
me. I suppose it can't to any harm. I have also scheduled the Level 4 exam
to take in December so another string to the bow!!
Really appreciate letting me know all the experiences you have. Incidently
did you marry in Japan and do the full japanese wedding ceremony. Thats one
thing my gf insists on! Bet she wont insist paying for it though!!! ha ha!
