Crudely - is the GF thing going to turn into the MISSUS thing anytime soon?
That would enable you to 'be' here, studying or looking for a job you want
to do - not just something to keep you in the country.

I don't want to sound like a Japanese government commercial - "make babies,
don't play pachinko", but marriage does give one a great deal of 'freedom'
here - and until the kids come along you're basically still a single guy
with a wife.  'DINKI' was the expression I think back in my London yuppie
days - Dual Income No KIds.
