The 'man' who does my visa is not in fact a lawyer - an accountant, I
believe, who also does visas. Lots of them - mainly for Brazilians and
Philippines and UKlanders too lazy to drive to Nagano. For me - it's a
quality of service issue. I enjoy the simplicity of handing over my
documents and passport, signing just the bottom of the application form.
The guy even dropped my passport round to my house last time.

Saves me a lot of fuss, it's extremely cost-effective even if I was on a
NOVA salary, and most importantly is one less thing my wife has to worry
about - which as everyone married to a local knows - is the key to a happy,
harmonious and questions-about-your-credit-card-bill-free life.
