That question isn't so easy to answer :-) but even if it would be bad,
feel free to bring them too. All welcome.
Only thing to remember is that Okazaki's summer festival runs August
4th-6th, with about half a million tourists packing the place on the
6th for the hanabi. So if you want to book a hotel in Okazaki (easiest
train connection to Expo) for that period then book pretty early.

The "Ohwa" hotel would be the most suitable for Expo (Aichi Kanjo line)
and Nagoya (Meitetsu line) connections. Only about 200 meters from the
station.
