In 1839, after the emperors own son had died from drug addiction, had
hired a moral offficial named Lin TSe Tsu to suppress the illegal
opium trade.  Opium had long been illegal in japan, because even a
chink can figure out it isnt healthy for society.  The chinese cracked
down on opium parlors and opium cargo all along the coast.


Angry at the chinese government for seizing "their" opium, the british
launched a series of blockades, bombardments, and coastal plunder.
When a peace was finally negotiated, the British demanded
"extraterritoriality", making it effectively illegal for Chinese to
arrest British drug dealers.


The worst drug addiction case in history proceeded, but things werent
even at their worst yet.


Later, when China was in a civil war, chinese officers mistakenly
arrested some british smugglers, and the British used the excuse to
decalare wae.  They demanded money from china and that china formally
legalize opium, and when the Emperor refused, the British simply
marched on his palace and burned it down.  France and Russia decided
to join in on the fun.  Helpless, and in civil war, the Emperor ad no
choice but to give in.




  Opium being competley legal now, even china's own merchants were
allowed to join in on the profits.



The worst drug addiction case in history proceeded, the long term
effects on chinese society were atrocious.


The question is, why do the chinese admmire the british for forcing o
them opium, and yet hate the japanese?  In the long run, the effects
of th opium trade (not stopped until CHina joined the allies in WW2)
were at least as bad.


Is it because chinese people worship whites, and hate the japanese
more because they are not white?


Seems to me the chinese are cowards, forgiving atrocities on them by
white people but not asians.  Cowardly chinks.
