mi (Re: Casual / Respectful form of family member words)
味噌汁(miso-shiru, miso soup) is also called as おみおつけ
(omiotsuke, 御御御付 in kanji).
At first, it was simply called as 付(tsuke, side dish) and
御付(o-tsuke) in honorific form.
Later, it became felt less honorific (as usual) and another
御(mi) was prefixed, then called as 御御付(mi-o-tsuke).
Later, once again, it became felt less honorific and another
御(o) was prefixed, then called as 御御御付(o-mi-o-tsuke).
Like a small coach pulled by three locomotives, isn't it? :-)
