*nod* Even then, a majority of how a character looks is solely reflected by
their personality, not height/size. Shinobu is only 2 year younger than
Motoko but looks VERY different. Likewise the girls were shocked to discover
the rather roughneck Sara was only 8.

I never had a problem with it per se aside from it being a slightly overused
gag, but luckily that tends to veer off later in the series. esp. with
Keitaro being much close to Naru & Motoko later on.

Ironically, Naru DOES take some serious lumps herself halfway into the manga
once she realizes she's 'assuming' Keitaros role later on.

I'd hope so. Maybe I've been jaded by the fact I no longer expect anime to
accurately reflect actual societial ideals, but I don't buy the plot device
of a girl being selfconcious simply because she's tall. (aka, the Makoto
Kino complex.)

It's a good episode, but sometimes read badly by people who don't know about
Motoko's backstory. Yes it's a sexist episode, but interesting in that it's
Motoko's own fault.
