Well, I'm giving it a whirl. E-mail is working fine. In the end I moved my
mail folders from my old computer to Outlook Express on the new one by
simply copying them onto an external disk. The only restriction seemed to be
that I could only move the *contents* of a folder, not the folder itself, so
I had to create folders on the external disk, and the only flaw was that
there was no indication on the imported files to show which e-mails had been
answered.
Mozilla was easy to download, and it asked on startup whether I wanted to
import all the folders from Outlook Express, so I just said yes and hey
presto!
I can't seem to set up a newsgroup account, though; there doesn't seem to be
a field for entering my username and password...
