Likewise, while I admit Gendo's 'situation' is creepy and weird, I still
have no idea where people got the idea he's sexually actracted to Rei.

EVA in particular, is difficult to label in general (which is why I don't
bother). Everyone has a messed-up relationship with someone, and of COURSE a
lot of friendships are going to be close. I think pigeonholding is just
missing the point.
