Pete,

I've had a Pentax 35mm SLR so I really wanted the Pentax Digital to keep my
old lenses. With the Pentax *istD I felt it was too expensive for the
quality so I hung off for a while. Now with the *istDS, at a significantly
reduced price I rushed out and bought one. What a great little SLR. Very
easy to use and feels good. Image quality is as good as the much talked
about Canon or Nikon. I don't know why most of the camera magazines tend to
ignore the Pentax?? The only drawback is that it's lowest ISO is 200, I
really would have liked to go down to 50 or even just 100 would be better (I
like long exposures). Aside from that, the standard digital 18mm to 50mm
Sigma lens is a beautiful, clear little lens for the money. I would
recommend, even if it comes later, investing in a high-end lens, you'll find
the quality of the camera is is not being used to the fullest with the
cheaper zooms.
