USB Floppy will probably work. I had one I'd purchased with a Satellite Pro
6000, also used on my 6100 as well as others. It was a Toshiba floppy.
Later used a LaCie. Was always able to boot on these and other Toshiba (use
that term lightly) laptops.

If you have access to another computer with a CD Burner, you can burn the
expanded BIOS update to a CD, Boot the laptop with a bootable CD with the
ability to run command.com, such as a Win 2k CD, or Norton Utilities. Boot
from the CD exit to a command prompt, switch CD's and run the BIOS update.
