What was China like in WWII?
Lou Glist, an American army officer, was sent to China in WWII to disperse
armaments to the Chinese military. Newly married on on a special mission, he
couldn't tell his new wife back home what he was doing, but he could draw
pictures of what he was seeing. That China is now gone! The mission is now
unclassified and you can read all about it in China Mailbag Uncensored by
Lou Glist, whose art now hangs in the Liuchow museum as representative of
the bygone era. Fascinating story.
