What a minute Franky old boy. Haul back the reins of your misconceptions
and relax the grip of your.. well, just hold on a minute. Personally I
think that Naoko was not nearly as important as Yui. NERV technically
could have worked without the MAGI, just not as fast. They could not have
worked without Unit 01.

Next, Naoko would have had a zero chance of getting into Unit 00 before
her death anyhow. As all souls apparently can not be stored within the
original host. In this situation anyhow, they are not, as the mothers of
the children are dead and Yui kinda lost her body as well. Further Asuka's
mother had a lot of trouble after her "accident." You'll note that the
continued existence of a live body was not a success.

Well, as there is no evidence to support the Misato theory (she was their
because her father took her with him) I'm going to discount it. As to
what's in Unit 00, Lilith and Yui are accounted for elsewhere and Rei,
well Rei is special but the simplest way to handle that is to say that she
is the pilot.
