This pisses me off. A lot.

After all the posturing, all the blogging, all the whining about not being
treated as equals blah blah racist police state, they "get as far away as
possible" the moment shit gets real. 

If you live here, live here for better or for worse. Don't put your dog in a
boarding kennel and catch the first flight out like a damned coward. If you're
in Tohoku and have to evacuate, go southwest, get out of the danger zone, but
don't abandon the whole country! People need help, and they're going to need
lots of it, for a long time. Volunteer! Contribute! Find someone who needs a
hand. The locals can't hop a flight back to Blighty the minute something catches
fire, so neither should you. If you're so serious about being a resident, act
like one.
