     Toshiba has several WinXP drivers not specifically related to
     the WiFi card. Since I was having a problem, I did make sure I
     installed those general WinXP drivers.

     NetGear offers none. Maybe none are needed.

     Since SP2 has been known to cause problems for some, I guess
     I'll blame that for now.

     I also used an Orinoco WiFi cad and had the same frustration.
     So I can't blame NetGear.

In the Device Manager, it should list any WiFi card under Network
Adapters. And you should be able to see any driver(s) installed for
the PC card (PCMCIA). And it has to have a driver to work. Otherwise
it will never be seen.

     I was curious if anyone else had better luck than I did.

I like to hear more about what part isn't working. As there are a
lot of steps to get a WiFi setup up and running. You apparently know
how to do so if you can get it to work under Windows 98.
