Hi,
I'm trying to downgrade the CPU of the laptop in subject,

it actually uses a P4 2.8GHz Northwood

(a non-mobile version, I think)

The cooler is totally underdimensioned, and the laptop has overheating 
problems, so I need a slower and cooler CPU.

Can someone tell me what is the coolest CPU I can use? I've tried a 
Willamette 1.7 but it doesn't work (the laptop doesn't even boot up).
