Well  you're still off by a factor of five (4.5 if you are using the nine 
girls figure and the song lyrics). 

Now I also thought that was a Beach Boys song - but then a number of 
songs I thought were Beach Boys songs turn out to be Jan and Dean. In the 
case of Surf City, the song was co-written by Brian Wilson, so the 
confusion is understandable.
