We have a report from the fj.life.in-japan Dynamics Officer that chuckers has
exploded. Flight director confirms that:

>I have (had?) a Mixi account but haven't updated it in probably about
>1.5 years at a minimum.
>Blogging doesn't really suit my personality. My mother wants me to
>join Facebook to stay in touch and keep updated etc. Not likely to
>happen. I just can't be bothered to keep it updated. E-mail is hard
>enough.

This is pretty much the same reason I got a Facebook account -- to keep family
members in the US informed as to what I'm up to. I don't "socalize" online in
the sense that I go out and seek new internet "friends" to chat with, because a)
there are only 24 hours in a day, and b) most people on the internet are boring
and stupid.

I have a Mixi account, but I don't use it. Mixians tend to be a more intelligent
lot than, say, 2ch, but you still end up with a bunch of people prattling on
about their daily lives, about which (when you really get down to it) we don't
really *need* to know. My life is dull and boring anyhow and all my
Twitter/Facebook/Mixi entries end up all sounding the same. So I don't bother
too much.
