I was looking through the DeSchuttes Brewery site; one of my favorite
"easy to get beers" is their Obsidian Stout. One of my favorite
seasonals is their Abyss Imperial. Both won lottsa awards at various
competitions. I looked through the WBA (World Beer Awards) results, and
this one caught my eye especially

Won Asia's best strong stout, 2011, and 3 more golds in 2010.

Also worth noting

Preston Ale's Irish Ale won Asia's best Export Style Stout and World's best
Stout Export Style. No web site given, but the company info is given as

Honda Sangyou Company
421 Kawachi-gan
Kaminogawa-mach
Isooka
Tochigi
Japan
329 0606

And SanktGallen Brown Porter won Asia's Best Porter

As you can probably tell, I'm partial to stouts and porters.

Anyway, the full list is at

If you download the PDFs, you'll see quite a few Japanese beers winning
awards. Japanese ji-biiru is well-represented. Good to see. Now, if only
they were more available, even in Japan...
