brought down from the Mount tablets inscribed:

>I've been watching the news as much as possible (I love the Internet),
>and I've noticed something I don't remember from years ago when I lived
>in Japan. The reporters always seem to have notebooks and rely heavily
>on them as they report. Has this always been the case, or is it a
>recent trend?

If they're stuck out there on a chuukei assignment where things are
changing pretty quickly and they're being called on to give updates
without time to prepare, then it's pretty normal.
