Many Christians support the argument that GOD is the sole arbiter of
morality. That without god morality is a purely cultural construct. I tell
my Christian friend "This is supposed to make me respect Christianity how?"
Of course Christians also like to sing and dance and cry out what a great
place heaven is and how everyone should want to go there. Until someone
dies. Then the singing and dancing and shouts of "PRAISE HIM"s "THANK YOU
LORD"s and "AMEN BROTHER"s stop. Where are the "Congratulations, I heard
you mom died!"s? Do Christians squeal in delight when the doctor says "You
only have 2 days to live."? Does the preacher jump on his lectern and shout
"GOAL!" when one of his congregation dies? No, of course not. Because,
when it is time to count the chips, Christians really believe heaven is a
bad place to go, or they don't really believe ANYONE can make it, we're all
going to hell. Whichever.
Don't try to argue facts and reason with these type of people. You can't
expect someone to listen to you when they won't even listen to themselves.
Dangit, I ranted. Trying to connect facts and morality pushed my button. Oh
well, it was short.
