It's kinda nice to have a location that changes. When I returned to Tokyo a
couple years ago, we decided to visit our old manshon in Kouganei. None of 
the shops/stores around the Musashi-Kouganei station had changed.

OTOH, other than Marui, I don't think any of the shops around Kichjouji
were the same. They even had a traffic controller directing buses and
pedestrians through the ally on the Inogashira side of the station.
And I only remembered one or two of the shops on the walk to the park.
Fortunately, one was the open-air yakitori bar, and the other was the gelato
shop.
