Try Googling for "intestate". You find vaguely useful sites like
http://www.wisewills.co.uk/intestate.htm and
http://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/basics/wills.htm
Note that the law in England & Wales differs from that of Scotland
on this.

Get a lawyer.
AFAIK the rules on division are pretty strict. Unless the grandmother
was actually supporting one of her kids, it'd be divided between them
equally.
