My memories of the marriage are the same. He trapped, cleaned, and
cooked her right here in Wa.

Both got it when they were born. He didn't change until after that. It
will be their decisions at age 16, not Debit's ... thank doG for small
favors.

But ... as previously imparted, I am pretty sure that his US passport
was left at the Consulate in Sapporo or the Embassy. Doubtless someone
has thoughtfully lost it for him so that he'll have to reapply.
Shredders are tricky things, they jump right up on your desktop and grab
all kinds of stuff. Sometimes, pages just fall right off the desk and
land directly in the shredder, too. I've had that happen to me any
number of times.
