Portable Low-Power FM Transmitters
So does anyone know anything about radio? It looks like we may have a
bunch of people coming over who will need interpretation in different
languages, so we were thinking of giving them small FM radios and
broadcasting, much as people sometimes do at conferences. Actually
most of the conferences I've been to lately have used infrared, but
we'll be moving, and outside, so a small, portable FM transmitter
(range about 100m), one per language, might work. Does it sound
reasonable? I don't know what the relevant laws are but assume they
are impenetrable and come down to "No," so getting forgiveness will
probably be easier than getting permission, and it's only for a few
hours. Of course we wouldn't knowingly choose the same frequencies as
any broadcast radio, blah, blah, blah.
Any idea where to get such things? I could wander around in Akihabara
dodging heat stroke and would-be assassins all day, and still never
find the right place, so I thought I would see if anybody has a hint.
Thanks!
