In other recent Dispatches From The Home Front, I learn that my
father, who had a stroke a couple of years ago, just had a(nother)
botox treatment to relieve something or other related to the
aftereffects of the stroke. The treatment amounts to receiving a few
injections of the same botulism toxin that my mother routinely dosed
the entire family with for decades for free.

Cost: $19,000.
