I have the M35X system board in my Toshiba.  I've also had the system board 
replaced, and I believe that the M35X system board has A LOT of problems 
although Toshiba tries to tell me different.  Sounds like you may have an 
overheat situation.  Mine was doing that (shutting off) before I had the 
system board replaced, which by the way, took Toshiba almost a month!
